So I was chatting with my most favoritest erotica writer, Mr. Shon Richards about the angst of being a writer and how sometimes you can be overflowing with ideas but just can’t get your ass to sit still long enough to write them all down. I told him about this awesome thing that me and my poet friends do once in a while, usually during the month of April (sometimes some people do it in November during NaNoWriMo). We call it the 30/30 challenge, which is a poem a day every day for 30 days.
This is usually done in a semi-public setting (like facebook or a private group blog) so all your peers can actually see if you did post your poem a day and you can see what other people are doing and be inspired or guilted into writing more. It is a great way to silence your inner critic and get writing because you really don’t have time to be “perfect”. The irony being that forcing yourself to produce in this manner actually increases your creativity and while a lot of what you may come up with is crap you always end up with a few gems you never would have written if you didn’t challenge yourself.
Of course this lead to the wonderful idea of marrying the 30/30 with my porn efforts and we got the “30/30 porn thing”!! Starting yesterday we are both going to write and record an erotic audio everyday for 30 days. I figured I would share mine here on my blog (unless they were just too painfully bad).
